My Freestyle Journey
My name is Rebeka Vértes, and I am a professional Football Freestyler.
I have been Freestyling since 2020.
Interestingly, my journey into freestyle did not begin with a background in traditional football, because I have never played for a football team.
The first time I witnessed freestyle tricks live, I was instantly inspired. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to master those skills and show the beauty of freestyle to the world.
Competing, results
I’ve been competing since 2021, regularly representing Hungary in the international competitions.
I reached my best result in 2023, I became TOP16 at the SuperBall World Championships in Prague.
Among other things, my aim is to try to ‘keep my country competitive’ on the international freestyle map, as Hungarian freestyle was very much at the forefront in the 2010s. I’d like to continue this line, which is becoming more and more difficult every year, as the sport is developing so much.
My motivation
As a freestyler it’s important for me to share my passion about the ball with others. I also want to inspire the people and show them how much you can learn by self-taught way, start from zero. It’s only about the passion, energy and the time you invest.
Also my goal is to popularize female freestyle. Everyone can be a freestyler, because it’s not about the gender. Competitions take place ina separate women’s category as well.
Shows, live performance
Over the past few years, I’ve done numerous shows at various events, both abroad and in Hungary. A few highlights:
- UEFA EURO 2020: choreographed street shows (Budapest, 2021)
- Football camp: sport demonstration for children (Austria, 2021)
- ISPO event: shows for Telescopicgoal‘s exhibition (Munich, 2022)
- European Club Association‘s event (ECA): duo performance in the Museum of Fine Arts (Budapest, 2023)
- Varieté show: duo act (Germany, 2024/25 winter season)
- Charity school tour throughtout Hungary as a trio (2025)
